It is always a bone of contention with the difference between an ‘Extension / Addition’ and a ‘Renovation’. For some, they are one and the same whereas for others there is a clear difference.

At Extensions Unlimited we use the terms in the following context:

We view ‘Renovating’ as the refurbishment or replacement of items within the existing home such as a Bathroom Renovation, Kitchen Renovation, Laundry Renovation and so on. Whereas ‘Extending’ the home or providing an ‘Addition’ to the home is adding area.

Extensions Unlimited is an expert extension building company and while we don’t provide renovation services alone, we rarely do an Extension or Addition that does not involve renovation works. These works range from minimal to major which would indeed cover bathroom renovations, kitchen renovations, laundry renovations, window replacements or adjustments, and more.

We started with Ted and Penny in the design phase who were extremely patient, listened to our needs and were willing to work through several iterations of design until we settled on something we were happy with. Once the job commenced we were so pleasantly surprised at how accommodating and respectful all the teams were in working around us while we continued to live on site. Led so well by Project Manager Emilio from start to finish, nothing was ever too much trouble for the guys and their attention to detail was evident. We engaged Extensions Unlimited for a second story renovation of a free standing house on a strata title. Our appointed designer Barry was fantastic and really made our vision of what we were trying to achieve come to life. He listened to all our needs and kept the charm of our California bungalow as requested, as well as designing a functional internal space, giving us the second living zone we wanted as our kids approached the teenage years. The process itself was easy for us as we didn't have to do anything other then let it happen. The Project Manger, Emilio, was quite simply amazing - any little issue or concern was sorted out immediately. He dealt with all the trades and let us know what was happening and when so we were aware, which was very helpful as we were living in the house at the time. He is such a calm and understanding person considering what a high stress job he has. Thanks again Emilio, you are a legend.

Very happy with our upstairs extension. The company stood out from the very beginning in terms of customer service as well as promptness and clarity of communication.Our project was finished on time and within budget.Have to especially acknowledge Emilio, our building manager and Barry West, our designer.Barry was very patient and attentive with our requirements in the design stages. He went out of his way to meet us outside working hours and was very clear and meticulous with everything.Emilio was easy to communicate with and was readily available on the phone even outside normal hours. He was very pro active with addressing all the issues which crept up during the build stage and efficiently managed the project within the agreed time frame

We had a great experience with extensions unlimited adding a second storey to our weatherboard home. Design was perfect and having lived in it now for over 8 months we can say we are fully happy with all aspects of the build. Project kept to budget and timeline. Highly recommend.
