Extension Building Inspections are for Compliance not Quality
21 Jan 2020
Building Inspections on domestic jobs including Extensions to Homes are for compliance only, not Quality.
A common misunderstanding by consumers of the building industry is the role of the building surveyor or building inspector in relation to the quality of the workmanship of the built product.
Some consumers may falsely believe that it is the role of the building inspector to check the quality of workmanship. This is not the case as in most instances they aer on site to inspect maybe four or five mandatory inspections i.e. foundations, frame completion, lock-up and final.
It is therefore extremely important to engage a specialist Extension Builder who has an established record and who’s future lies in producing good quality work, will be around for maintenance should something goes wrong and relies heavily on word of mouth such as Extensions Unlimited.
